THE GREEN TEAM

The Green Team is an essential part of the festival, keeping the site clean, tidy and free of rubbish.   Green team volunteers work across the whole site so have the advantage of being able to enjoy the performances while working.

Aim

To ensure that bins are emptied on a regular basis and opportunities for recycling are optimized.

Activities

To work with the Green Team Co-ordinator to carry out the following:

  • Before the event to help set up the recycling stations and ensure that bins are situated at the busiest places.
  • To collect tied rubbish bags from around the site.
  • To ensure that recycling bins are emptied into the appropriate places
  • To focus on the tidiness of the site and encourage the use of the facilities provided.
  • To walk through the crowd at busy times and collect rubbish straight into recycling bags.

Green Team volunteers will be provided with protective gloves and litter collecting equipment

Time required :

Shifts are organized to cover the Festival Weekend and volunteers will be consulted to arrange times that best suit them.  Ideally volunteers should be available for at least one 5 hour shift but all offers of help are very welcome.
