PROGRAMME SALES COORDINATOR

The sale of programmes is an important source of income for the festival.

Aim

To provide income and to satisfy the audience’s desire for souvenirs while increasing recognition of the Rhythms “brand”.

The quality of the service to the public must be of the same high standard as the rest of the festival.

Experience & Training

Some retail experience would be useful but any reasonably numerate person could pick up the skills necessary. Detailed guidance and close supervision is available to anyone willing to take charge of the ROTW programme sales operation.

Activities

The activities below are part of a team effort and will be carried out in consultation and co-operation with other members of the ROTW committee.

  • Sales preparation. – Liaise with the various shops who traditionally agree to sell ROTW programmes and plan distribution to the various locations. Liaise with the volunteers who will sell programmes at the festival.

  • Sales. – In advance of the festival take the programmes to the retail outlets and keep control of their stock levels & sales cash. At the Festival distribute stock to the fixed sales points and supervise roving vendors. Redistribute stock in line with demand. Recover unsold stock at the end of the festival.

  • Administration. – Keep a record of stock movements, produce accurate record of sales and bank the sales cash.

Time commitment

Occasional work throughout the year, with greater demand in the weeks before and after the festival and over the festival weekend.
