Following the success of Rhythms
of the World (ROTW) 2009, we’ve set the date for 2010: the Rhythms of the World
Festival will be held on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July in the
grounds of the Hitchin Priory.
We would like to thank the
Chartridge Conference Company for welcoming us back to the Priory for another
year, and look forward to working with the Chartridge team to bring a world of
music to Hitchin’s largest and most diverse festival. Please, put the dates in
your diary!
We're busy making plans for this year's festival, and things are hotting up. If you want to keep track of what's going on, have a question and want to get in touch we've reserved little corners of the social-web for you to do just that.
We have a Twitter profile where we'll post our latest news, listen out for your feedback and chat about anything Rhythms related.
We also have a Facebook page, and it's getting nice and busy. There we'll post our news, upcoming volunteer and fundraising events, and be on hand to give you information.
In the run up to the festival these will be handy places to look for up-to-the-minute updates and essential information. So drop by, get comfortable and say hi!
ROTW reaches the finals of Regional Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2009.
We are proud to announce ROTW made it to the final three in the 'Best Tourism Event/Festival' category. The Enjoy England Awards for Excellence are recognised as the premier awards for the tourism industry. The regional awards highlight the quality of the tourism industry in the eastern region (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk) and help to raise the profile of the participants.
The awards were presented by BBC Newsnight’s Gavin Esler at a black tie dinner held last Thursday, in The West Wing at Ickworth, near Bury St Edmunds. Unfortunately the winners medal escaped us this year, but reaching the finals is a great achievement.
We would like to send a massive thank you to the volunteers, crew, performers and, of course, the thousands of festival goers who made ROTW 2009 such a recognised success. We hope you'll all be back to help us take the top spot in 2010!
