The line up for ROTW 2009 is now complete, so keep checking back here for updates.
One of the highlights at ROTW 2009 will be Jazz Jamaica, who are the No 1 exponents of Skazz, a mixture of Ska and Jazz and who have been winners of BBC Jazz Band of the Year.
We’ve also got The Jive Aces returning to ROTW for a second time (they were so good last time and are always guaranteed to bring a smile to everyone’s face), and a legend (at least for people of a certain age) by the name of John Otway, with his renowned surreal sense of humour and a winning underdog persona.
We have also have Etran Finatawa bringing their desert blues from Niger, The Magnolia Sisters, an all female Cajun band from America, and rising stars Hjaltalin from Iceland.
To add to the variety we have Welsh language folk band Allan Yn Y Fan, Babylon Lane, a choir performing ‘shape note’ music, the young English folk duo The Askew Sisters, the reggae sound of Rebel Control and the genre indefinable The Otters.
